Common mistakes when mixing teal

Teal balances blue against green with almost no room for red to sneak in, since red is teal's complement and even a trace pulls it toward grey. Phthalo-based mixes get the saturation right but can overpower everything else in the mix if the proportions aren't watched closely. If your teal looks lifeless rather than deep, check that your water or medium isn't diluting the phthalo down to a pastel version of itself.
