How this compares
Trycolors allows 3 recipes a day on its free plan, roughly 90 a month against our 10, so on free volume alone they are more generous. Their annual plan is cheaper too, $36 against $79. If you look up a recipe now and then, they are the better deal and we would rather say so.
What you get here is different. Chromilla works at pigment level, with recipes tied to real tube data and to how acrylic, oil and watercolor actually behave as they dry. It is built for someone mid-project who has already wasted paint trying to hit one color, not for casual lookups.

Do I need a card to start?
No. A free account takes no card. It mixes 10 new colors each calendar month, resetting on the 1st, and re-opening colors you already mixed does not count. The full mixer, Dry-Down Preview and the Palette Builder are included. Chromilla Pro and Chromilla Studio each start with a 14-day trial that does ask for a card up front, billed monthly or annually, whichever you picked above. Cancel before day 14 and you are not charged.
What is the difference between Pro and Studio?
Pro is for your own painting: unlimited mixes, Mix Correction, Area Sampler, Palette Optimizer, the full Guided Session plan, full mixing strings, palette cards, Value Study with 5 and 7 zones, Scan Tubes, Tube Calibration, Recipe Scaling by batch or by area and an unlimited Mix Journal.
